The Gallery Opening Exhibition and Reception

The Blake Hotel recently unveiled The GALLERY, a space dedicated to celebrate local artists which was curated by the Kehler Liddell Gallery. The inaugural exhibit, “Winter Garden” which will run until April, includes over twenty locally-based artists and their work in a newly appointed space on the 6th floor of the hotel.

Over 100 people attended originating from all over Connecticut to include: lower Fairfield, New Haven and northern Hartford County. Guests were welcomed in the lobby of The Blake Hotel with live jazz performed by local musicians,  Dylan McDonnell and Maxx Spinelli.

Attendees and artists mingled, enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from High George and engaged in  “Conversations in the Gallery,” the first curator talk titled “Curating Your Space” where Muffy Pendergast, the Assistant  Director of KLG Gallery and Claire Salvatore, owner of The Blake Hotel shared, “How to channel your inner curator and optimally display all the art and objects you love.”

“Winter Garden” is an exhibition featuring the work of 20+ Kehler Liddell Gallery collective artists who have exhibited regionally and internationally: Julie Fraenkel (Branford), Penrhyn Cook and Rod Cook (Bridgeport),  Alan Shulik (Guilford), Matt Garrett, Kate Henderson, Liz Antle-O’Donnell, Hank Paper, Marjorie Wolfe (Hamden), Tom Edwards (Killingworth), Frank Bruckmann, Chris Ferguson, Ana Henriques, Roy Money, Mark St. Mary, Gar Waterman, Kim Weston and Sven Martson (New Haven), Amy Browning (South Norwalk), Robert Bienstock (Wallingford) and Amanda Duchen(Woodbridge).
